I don’t often write poetry these days so, please, don’t measure everything I write based on this piece. I call it “Atlas Tripped.”
O’ how mighty Atlas has fallen,
how he has been crushed under the weight of the globe.
The thunderbolt pressed to his temple,
the flames of Hades licking at his heels.
No man, no god, no titan could ever shoulder such burden.
No poet could ever pen his pain and his weariness.
Behold, mighty Atlas has fallen,
but he will rise again.
