So, I’ve had lots going on in the last few weeks and I’m ready to share some stuff. First, I got a letter from the sheriff’s office commending me for work I did during a SWAT training exercise back in December. It was nice to be recognized for my achievements rather than my downfalls. Not often that this happens in my line of work.
Next, I’ve got a short story appearing in the May issue of Bloodbond Magazine. I’ve been making slow but steady progress as a writer and I’m thrilled to be in print in my genre twice now in six months. My last was November’s Devolution Z magazine.
I also expanded out and wrote an editorial piece and helped in the overall editing of some articles for the pilot issue of Aquiline Photography Magazine. AQ is based in Colorado and does some awesome stuff with infrared and thermal cameras as well as traditional photography. They’re racy and risque but tasteful.
I also have a novella in the hands of a publisher right now. It’s only been a month but they’re reading it and considering.
For the first time in my life I’ve got my head on straight and I’m doing what I love. I’m making a better life and finally accomplishing goals that just a few years ago would have been out of reach. Whether any of it amounts to anything, goes anywhere, I don’t know. But I’m finally able to say I’m enjoying my life.
